ACHICA.

September 10, 2015

Earlier this year the Geometric Pendant Lighting starred in the New Design Britain Awards at May Design Series within the Accessories Category. ACHICA were the proud sponsers of this area, and gave a great input into advising with the progression of each of our designs.

We are now in to September and the online luxury retail store has given each NDB finalist a great opportunity to promote our work through their website, as well as giving a more personal insight in to us as designers with our interviews by Emily Peck. Here, I talk about the background in to the designs, inspirations and my advice for upcoming designers.

Since the launch of the project from ACHICA I have had a vast amount of e-mails through about pricing and lead-time for the lighting and it is great to see so many of you interested in the designs. I've had comments through saying they would like to mix traditional interiors with quirky contemporary accessories, as well as showing me images of their highly sophisticated and modern dining/kitchen areas where they would like to add focal points to create a highly aesthetic atmosphere - a perfect situation for decorative lighting to maximise a rooms potential.

It is clear to see that these designs are well-suited for such a broad range of interiors, not just for minimalistic rooms with netural colour pallets. The work brings such a unique feel to a room and depending on your colour choice can spark flecks of soft colour to bring warmth and create a calm ambience throughout. Each pendant light is rich in colour without the light turned on, and gives a feeling of suspended sculpture throughout the day, transforming in to a delicate softer colour once the sustainable LED is switched on, emitting a warm light with beautiful reflections.

When purchasing the lighting, always ensure that the work is installed by a qualified electrician. Each light comes with 1m of flex (can be cut to size), black ceiling rose and 1x E14 LED bulb.

I am just about to start work for a design company in London which means that continuing with my own work may be of difficulty. Once I have discussed the relevant information with my new employer I will be able to give more information on delivering and lead-time. For more information please get in touch through the CONTACT page on this website.
