As previously mentioned, using 3mm thick glass instead of 6mm will dramatically save me money and also help pratically with wall fixings. The first test of using thinner glass seemed to result in a less attractive outcome as the texture had not been completely picked up from the plaster/flint forms. The firing sequence used was dwelling at 577 degrees for 10 minutes, with an increase up to top temperature of 730 degrees and held for 10 minutes.
The sequence had been chosen due to the outcomes of previous firings which can give a rough guide as to what sequence to use for this. Unfortunately another 3mm panel will need to be slumped, taking the temperature higher to see if this is any better.
